In November, one of Zsófi's colleagues, Anne Brown, asked me to paint something on her eldest doughter's (Enya's) wall. We met a few time to discuss this. It was supposed to be a christmas surprise for Enya as she was studying in Britain and would come back to Spain for Christmas. Anne was refurbishing the room and wanted the main subject to be the sea. We went from underwater coral reef to boats on the sea, tropical island, and many other things including some posing surfers until we decided on striped beach huts with a surfboard. This was in memory of the belgian beaches where they spent their summers while living in Brussels. It turned out to become something rather geometrical, which I'm not so used to do, but in the end it got good and I introduced an organic shaped hibiscus on the surfboard to break the rigidness of the rest. While painting, their cat cept me company, which was nice. I tried to take some pictures which was quite hard as the room is so small:

The funny thing is that Zsófi, a month or so later went for a walk along EL Campello beach and saw the exact same huts!

Jungle Race

After seeing the Pulpo on my wall, my landlords asked me to paint something on the wall of their baby teins's playroom wall. I showed them some sketches and they chose elements from some which I then recombined. This was my first payed asignement. It was very motivating making something for people that were not close friends or family, even though they are a really nice couple. They let me loads of creative freedom. To satisfy them, I wanted to get something coulourful, original and something they won't get bored of after a short time.
Her you can see the creation in process:

1st wallpainting

This is my very first wallpaint. I did it at my parents place after they split up. My dad left and my mum then wanted the corridor full of colours because my dad always wanted to have it white. Now, 4 years later, they are back together and my dad really likes the paintings too. I only have a photo of one picture. In march, when I go to Luxembourg for a weekend, I will take pictures of the other ones.
My mom gave me some money to buy paint, which I did and I then started painting without sketches or idea. This is the result and I think it could have been way worse. At least it is coulourful :-)

Pulpo

Hi
I want to show you now how I made my pulpo painting on my wall at home:

Zsófi helped me a bit too

It turned out to be the perfect background for a great halloween party :-)

Beatrice

For my girlfriend's colleague, Beatrice, I made a portrait of her (2007) I think she looks quite alike...

Exhibition selection

Later in 2007 I was supposed to have an exhibition at OAMI, my girlfriend's workplace. I thought that could be a good idea but I had to have more paintings. Here is a selection of what I exhibited then
If you want some more explanations, don't hesitate asking:

Summer 2007

Here are some paintings from the summer 2007. In these times I had a lot of time because I didn't have a job. Here are some of my favourites:

As you can see, I like bright colours.

The first series

Allright, so here is the first set of paintings. They are from spring 2007, which is the time I started painting and drawing again after several years without art. Before that I was kind of disapointed in art didn't want to have to do anything with it anymore. But then, one evening i started painting again and I liked the result:Birdcat, acrilic on A3 paper

It was encouraging that I was still able to do something figurative after such a long time of art-abstinence.
Then I did more:
I had a good time making these and I didn't think too much about a concept or such. It's obvious though that I should work on a style or something like that...
Tell me what you think.

Dear All

In this blog I want to exhibit my artwork. I will show some older and some newer stuff, starting of course with the older ones, which are usually only on paper. Recently I've been doing wallpaintings which I enjoy a lot. So you will see some of these too.
Of course, if you are interested in getting a wallpaint at your home, work or any other location, don't hesitate contacting me at p_i_t@gmx.net
